Newly admitted freshmen have a one-time opportunity to switch pre-majors within in the Mathematics Department during their orientation session.
What if I am not attending or missed orientation? or What if I decided after orientation had already ended that I'd like to switch?
You will have to complete the checklist below.
Can I switch to a major in a different college/school? E.g., Switching from the School of Engineering to the College of Letters & Sciences
Students cannot switch between colleges during orientation. Students outside the College of Letters & Sciences can switch into a pre-major in the Mathematics Department and into the College of Letters & Science by completing the checklist below.
Declaring Pre-major Checklist
- I have completed at least one regular quarter (fall, winter, spring) in good academic standing at UCLA with at least 12.0 units.
- All the courses I’ve taken thus far for the mathematics major meet the minimum letter grade and GPA requirements. See minimum requirements in Undergraduate Mathematics Handbook.
